- The influence of feedback technologies on consumer behavior, in particular using social norms, goal setting, and framing techniques
- Green Information Systems (Green IS), especially in the context of smart grid and smart meter infrastructures
- Moral licensing and rebound effects
- Data analytics for time series consumption data

- Motivating Energy Saving by Means of Marketing and ICT - a research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF)
- EcoDrive - an investigation of the effects of an environmental information system on driving performance for SAP
- Smart Water Metering - research on the effects of virtual budgets and data representation on resource usage with Amphiro AG and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (BFE)
- Customer segmentation based on load profiles - a research project funded by two utility companies
